Inclusive Crew won the Innovation Award at the West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce 2025 Annual Awards.
The Chamber has represented the business community across West Cheshire and North Wales for over 90 years. As an independent, not-for-profit organisation, it promotes business growth and prosperity across the region.
The Innovation Award recognises organisations driving positive change through new ideas that deliver tangible benefits to their business, customers, or wider industry. Inclusive Crew was recognised for its groundbreaking use of VR technology for neuroinclusion training - the first of its kind in the UK.
The Chamber Recognition Awards celebrate businesses demonstrating excellence across categories including innovation, customer service, sustainability, business growth, and community impact. The annual ceremony took place at Chester Racecourse.
Phillipa Nicholson said: "This award validates what we've known from the start - innovation in inclusion matters. Using VR to create genuine empathy is changing how organisations approach neurodiversity. We're proud to be recognised by our local business community."

Phillipa Nicholson, founder of Inclusive Crew, won Hero of the Year at the British Diversity Awards 2025.
The ceremony took place at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Wednesday 19 March. Hosted by broadcaster Charlene White and Dr Ranj Singh, the event was headline sponsored by LSEG, with support from over 25 organisations including Sky, National Grid, Amazon, HSBC Innovation Banking, and BT Group.
The British Diversity Awards, now in their fourth year, recognise individuals and organisations driving change in diversity, equity, and inclusion across the UK. The Hero of the Year category, sponsored by Boots, honours exceptional contributions to inclusion and equality.
Phillipa was recognised for creating the UK's only VR-powered neuroinclusion training covering 18 neurodivergent conditions.
The evening opened with a keynote from June Sarpong OBE and featured a performance by Boney M. Other winners included Monzo (Company of the Year) and Christine McGuinness (Media Champion of the Year).
Founder Linda Riley said: "Diversity and inclusion are the foundations of a stronger, more successful society. The British Diversity Awards celebrate those organisations and individuals leading the way in creating a more equal and representative world."

Inclusive Crew has become the first organisation in the UK to use virtual reality (VR) for neuroinclusion training to cover 18 neurodiversities
Founded by Phillipa Nicholson, Inclusive Crew covers 18 neurodivergent conditions - significantly more than the industry standard of three (autism, ADHD, and dyslexia).
The 18 conditions include: ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Meares-Irlen Syndrome, Tourette's Syndrome, OCD, Aphantasia, Auditory Processing Disorder, Hyperlexia, Misophonia, Nonverbal Learning Disorder, Prosopagnosia, Sensory Processing Disorder, Synesthesia, and Alexithymia.
The VR workshops let participants experience what it's like to be neurodivergent in workplace and education settings. Rather than just learning about neurodiversity, people actually experience sensory overload, communication difficulties, and the exhaustion of masking.
The immersive training is available for organisations, schools, colleges, and universities across the UK.
